Our Story.
LIFE Bag was born from real time spent on the road.
Originally designed with the needs of airline flight crews in mind, LIFE Bag grew out of nearly two decades of constant travel, unfamiliar destinations, and the understanding that disruptions can happen anywhere.
Our founder, an airline pilot, experienced multiple natural disasters while away from home, including two earthquakes. After the second one, the reality was hard to ignore: even experienced travelers are often far less prepared than they think.
Like many people on a work trip, vacation, or layover, it is easy to assume that help, supplies, or basic infrastructure will always be close by. But when transportation stalls, services are disrupted, or access to essentials becomes uncertain, that assumption can fall apart quickly.
That realization led to months of research, testing, and development focused on one question: what should a truly practical emergency kit for travel look like?
The answer was not a bulky survival bag packed with gimmicks. It was a compact, travel-ready system built around the essentials — water, shelter, signaling, basic first aid, and emergency food support — designed specifically for real-world disruptions away from home.
Today, LIFE Bag is a small U.S.-based company focused on preparing practical, travel-ready emergency kits with care and attention to detail. Each kit is hand packed and assembled with the goal of delivering a compact, dependable product people can actually keep with them when they travel.
LIFE Bag stands for Layover Incident Field Essentials.
When something unexpected happens away from home, preparation matters.
